Come Tour Shreveport - Bossier!
Springtime
in Shreveport Bossier
One thing is for sure, there is always
something going on in our area! Its tremendous growth has merged our Old
South elegance with gleaming glass high-rise buildings and nestled them among
the natural splendor of our "Sportsman's Paradise." You can enjoy one of the
many festivals that keep us busy, along with a range of cuisines, sports,
shopping, history, arts and entertainment!
Good food,
good music, good times!
Our history is vast with Civil War
reenactments at Mansfield State Historic Site and Pleasant Hill, or you can
trace the First and Second Campaigns of the Red River up Bayou Boeuf , or to
Natchitoches (the film "Steel Magnolias" was made there). But wherever you go,
you'll hear the tales of Captain Henry Miller Shrever, who cleared a 180 mile
log jam, opening the Red River to the future site of Shreveport. You will also
hear about that infamous pair, Bonnie and Clyde, who had their last and fateful
encounter with the law near Arcadia.
Enjoy the Arts? Our beautifully
restored Strand Theater is one of the country's finest, showcasing our Broadway
Series and so much more. Or you can choose your favorite ticket from our own
Shreveport symphony, ballet or opera.

Home Inspections >Serious Inspections
When you are involved in the process of buying a home, it is safe to assume that you will probably find one that you like, make an offer, and purchase it. There are many steps along the way, and more and more buyers in the market today want guarantees. Inspections by structural engineers and environmental specialists often turn up something wrong with the property you want to buy. Many sales have been halted or delayed because asbestos, lead, or radon was found on the property.
If a problem has been found with the property you want to buy, ask yourself two questions:
1) Can the problem be fixed?
2) If so, what will it cost to repair it?
Some of the following problems could keep you from purchasing a property, if:
1) the house rests on a fault line;
2) the water supply is contaminated;
3) there is a severe crack in the foundation;
4) the house is located under electro-magnetic power lines;
5) the house is contaminated with radon gas.
Enlist your real estate agent's help in identifying the existence of any of these problems prior to buying property.
